The award recognises Touchlight’s progress in bringing cell-free DNA manufacturing into regulated production and clinical use. Through its proprietary dbDNA™ platform, Touchlight is helping genetic medicine developers move beyond the constraints of traditional plasmid DNA production, with a faster, scalable manufacturing approach that eliminates bacterial sequences and supports increasingly complex therapeutic designs.

Touchlight was shortlisted across three categories at this year’s awards: Innovation Catalyst, Manufacturing Excellence, and Sustainable Pharma Excellence, recognising the company’s work across innovation, manufacturing and sustainability within the pharmaceutical industry.

In 2025, Touchlight achieved a major industry milestone with the world’s first GMP licence for cell-free DNA manufacturing, building on its Drug Master File (DMF), in place since 2022. Today, Touchlight operates 11 GMP manufacturing suites, while its cell-free DNA platform has supported nine accepted INDs and CTAs, with seven programmes ongoing, demonstrating the clinical adoption and regulatory maturity of the technology.

The winner’s award was presented to Touchlight at a ceremony on October 6, 2026 at CPHI Milan, the world’s largest pharmaceutical industry event, which is currently taking place at Fiera Milano, Milan.
